- United States is special in its protection of gun rights - this freedom adds exceptional amounts of responsibility that are far from being met.
- There are some potential outliers to explore (Switzerland and Greece), which provide more freedom than most, but have much lower gun-related deaths rates than the US.
- Homicides with guns don't seem to turn into other types of homicides in countries with stricter gun laws.
- There is absolutely no reason to believe that taking guns away endangers the population, generally.
The only reason to support the gun laws we have, I believe, is to say that the freedom in itself is worth the consequences.
I would have a hard time accepting that.
